I’m Chris Ambrose.
I was raised in small towns and rural areas, and I wanted to keep serving in the heart of America. That’s how I fell in love with the Flint Hills and my wife and I chose to return to her hometown after law school. I’m a lawyer, but I’m also your neighbor — someone who lives, works, buys, attends church, and serves locally. Just like you do.
I graduated the University of Missouri-Kansas City for undergrad and law school. In law school, I was on the Jessup International Law Moot Court competition team; served as the managing director for the UMKC Federalist Society; and was Vice President of UMKC’s chapter of the National Republican Lawyers Association.
During my time in law school, I also interned with the Missouri State Public Defender system; at a small firm in Lee’s Summit, Mo.; with the Death Penalty Litigation Clinic; and with Kansas Legal Services in Emporia. I’m passionate about people receiving fair access to lawyers and courts when accused of a crime, which is why part of my practice includes appointments from the state.
Because of my interest in agriculture, I’ve also taken agribusiness courses at Kansas State University. (Below, you can see photos of me helping my folks on their farm.)
I’ve been married to my wife, Jacque, since 2012, and we homeschool our four children. We are active members of Flint Hills Bible Church, especially in the children’s ministries. I also try to stay involved in the community and with nonprofit organizations, like serving on the board for SOS, Inc. and volunteering for Radical Life, Inc.
As an attorney and a business owner with young children, there’s not much time left over, but I enjoy endurance sports like gravel cycling and running; shooting sports; building computers; and cheering on the Wildcats, Chiefs and Royals.
