Chris Ambrose, Attorney
Chris is our founding attorney. He was raised in small towns and rural areas, and after graduating from law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Chris started his practice in Emporia. Click here to read more.
Kary Johnson, Legal Assistant
Kary is our legal assistant and has more than 17 years of experience working in a law office. Her favorite part of her job is that she has a variety of responsibilities and no two days are the same. In her spare time, Kary enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her two dogs, and camping.
Malachai Smith, Law Clerk
Malachai has worked as our law clerk since 2022. He is in the process of getting his Criminal Justice degree with plans to graduate in 2025. After graduating, he hopes to attend law school. Malachai loves being able to help others and learn the ins and outs of how the legal system works in the day-to-day. He says he is developing a love for the law, as it encompasses what we do and how we do it, ensuring there is structure, order, regularity, and (hopefully) justice. Malachai is a native Spanish speaker. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, eating, writing, playing console games, spending time with family, playing board games with friends, playing sports, working out, and more eating.
Jacque Ambrose, Marketing & Public Relations
Jacque has been here since the beginning in 2013 to create our websites, grow our online presence, and help the community get to know us. She has enjoyed being along for the ride and using some creativity as Harvest Legal has gotten started, bounced along through the pandemic, and ebbed and flowed until hitting its stride as a well-rounded law practice. Jacque doesn’t have any spare time, because she has a busy husband and homeschools a lot of kids, but she enjoys hiking with the family, going on the occasional date night, serving at church, and re-reading the same pages of whatever book she’s trying to finish.
